Phil Spencer reveals Microsoft considered bringing GoldenEye to Xbox

Uh, yes. Please.

Mojang officially announced that Microsoft and Nintendo had come to an agreement to allow Minecraft to finally come to the Wii U. The game will make its Wii U debut in about a week, but amidst the congratulations, Microsoft's head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, revealed that this wasn't the first time Microsoft had eyed Nintendo.

In fact, Phil Spencer would be "happy to see" Nintendo games hitting an Xbox console. In terms of which game it would be, well, apparently Microsoft has already had one in mind — GoldenEye.

According to Spencer, the Rare-developed and Nintendo-published GoldenEye for N64 had been in Microsoft's sights multiple times. "GoldenEye rights are so challenging, looked at this many times," said Spencer. "Lot's of different parties to work with, we've always given up." It would be great to see GoldenEye resurrected for modern consoles – as long as they kept Oddjob as cheap as ever.
