Fallout 4 named game of the year at D.I.C.E awards

Bethesda among several game developers to receive honours

Many successful titles were released in 2015 but ultimately it was Fallout 4 that was crowned game of the year at the19th annual D.I.C.E awards ceremony. 

Bethesda's role-playing game captured the imagination of gamers across the globe as the developers took Fallout to the next level. 

Game of the year wasn't the only prize too, Fallout 4 was also named role-playing game of the year and received an outstanding achievement for game direction. 

The franchise was applauded for success on PC platform, console gaming and even on mobile with Fallout Shelter – the app even scooped the title of mobile game of the year on a memorable night for the franchise.

Of course, Fallout was not the only game that received honours, here are a few others: 

  • Rocket League, Psyonix, was crowned sports game of the year, received an outstanding achievement in online gameplay and the D.I.C.E. Sprite Award.
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, CD Prokjekt Red, landed an outstanding achievement in story, technical achievement and game design.
  • Ori and the Blind Forest, Moon Studios, received outstanding achievements in animation, art direction and original music composition.
  • Star Wars: Battlefront, Electronic Arts studio DICE, was named action game of the year and earned an outstanding achievement in sound design.
  • Forza Motorsport 6,Turn 10 Studios and Microsoft Studios, was crowned racing game of the year.
