A named Scott Lininger (with the help of Mike Magee) decided that the world needed a playable 3D browser version of The Legend of Zelda to celebrate the game franchise's 30th anniversary. Unfortunately, Nintendo didn't agree.
The game, called Zelda30Tribute, was an entirely free-to-play adaptation of The Legend of Zelda that could be played on either PC or a smart device with touchscreen controls. The game was not 100% finished, but featured three dungeons with plans to expand the game with more content in the future.
According the browser game's creators, Scott and Mike, the game has been taken down by Nintendo due to copyright infringement. Luckily, the internet never forgets.
