According to the most recent episode of Heroic Insider, hosts Daniel Alder and Umberto Gonzalez are reporting that Batman himself, Ben Affleck and DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer, Geoff Johns will have complete creative control over the upcoming solo Batman film due to release on October 5th, 2018. While this can still be categorized as a rumor, this does seem to fit within some recent events indicated a lot of friction and change going on behind the scenes at Warner Brothers.
In recent days, Director Seth Grahame-Smith departed The Flash over "creative differences" and it was later rumored that the Aquaman director would follow suit. There are allegations that the studio heads at Warner Brothers are clashing with Zack Snyder as well as other figureheads that have been currently overseeing various DC movie projects, and it appears that changes are coming.
We already know that Ben Affleck has written the script for the solo Batman movie and is currently on tap to direct the movie as well, so knowing that he has "complete creative control" over the movie is a logical next step.
It was also recently announced that Marvel Studios has complete creative control over the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming movie as well, which has prompted a positive and reassured reaction from fans. It's quite possible that due to the nature and financial risk that big budget super hero movies are, that we could very well see studios using the term "complete creative control" as a PR tactic to either generate buzz (in the case of Spider-man) or put out fires (in the case of the DC movieverse).
