Towards the end of last year, EA confirmed that they had several Battlefront games planned for the future. "Our goal is to make future Battlefront games as well as other style games around the Star Wars franchise, both on mobile as well as console and PC," said EA CFO Blake Jorgensen in November 2015.
At the time, Jorgensen revealed that their Star Wars games would tie in to the future core films and spin-offs. During EA's recent earnings call, Jorgensen revealed more information on Battlefront 2, detailing that the game would be using content fromt "the new movies" and that EA had plenty of plans for Star Wars.
"We'll most likely have at least one Star Wars title a year over the next three to four years. Next year we will see Star Wars Battlefront back with bigger and better worlds, because we now have the new movies to work off of, not just the historical movies that we used before.
"We also are working on a Star Wars action game that part of the Motive team is working on, as well as the Visceral team, and that's most likely the following year. And as we've announced we're working with our partners, Respawn, to work on another Star Wars game. They're very excited about that. They were asking us to include them in the franchise and we felt that they could add a huge amount to a new title there.
We have heard of the Respawn Star Wars game and the Visceral game, that's still 'a few years away,' but we haven't heard much on Motive's game. From Jorgenson's quote we can expect Star Wars games from EA until 2021.
