Niantic unveils official Pokemon GO screenshots and details

Finally, we don't have to rely on the kindness of field testers!

Niantic has finally released some official screenshots and details about the upcoming release of the pokemon mobile experience, Pokemon GO.

Up until this point, the majority of information and/or screenshots we've received from the highly anticipated and much speculated release of Pokemon GO has relied solely on the brave few beta testers and field "operatives" who have covertly leaked some of the game's footage under the nose of game developer, Niantic. As of recently, more and more official details about the game have been released by the studio, eliminating the need for the leaks. With the impending launch of the mobile game on the horizion, they've released an official statement on their blog precedeeing the US beta test starting today:

"It’s getting closer. It’s been sort of like making a big meal for your friends or family. We have been sweating the details in the kitchen and now we are anxious and excited to share our creation with you.

Some of you have been in the kitchen with us. You’ve have done a great job of guiding us so far. Across Japan, Australia and New Zealand, Pokémon GO field testers have been collecting and battling with impressive regularity and we’re learning a lot from them. And today, we’re expanding that field test to the United States to get more feedback to improve the game."
Among the significant details involve the release of a blutooth device expected to release around the same time as the game known as the Pokemon GO Plus. The device allows you to enjoy the game, even when you're not immediately on your mobile device. One feature that appeals to the pokemon breaders/workout enthusiasts out there is the ability to hatch eggs. Much like the Nintendo games, players will have the ability to hatch eggs via the amount of steps you take using an in game pedometer.

While the official release date is still TBD, only revealed so far as "soon", Niantic was gracious enough to unveil a flurry of official screenshots from the game featuring such elements as capturing, training, and battling pokemon. Check them out on the next page!
