The Sims 4 free new expansion, ‘Create a Sim’, offers more diversity across both genders

Over 700 items to be available for both genders

EA's latest Sims game, Sims 4, has just received a brand new expansion for free. The "Create A Sim" mode brings new gender customization options to its players.

Before this new expansion, clothing options were specifically targeted to its male or female characters, however, with this new expansion you are now available to wear anything across both genders.

"We've had a ton of fun exploring how well many of the short hair male hairstyles look on the female Sims, and vice versa. And we're just getting started checking out how outfits and styles look on totally different body types."

In addition to the new clothing options, players will also have the ability to customize their Sims individual characteristics even further. Hairstyles and speech-styles are just some of the things EA has changed. In fact, EA says they opened up 700 new items that were previously gender-specific items across both genders now.

"The Sims is made by a diverse team for a diverse audience, and it's really important to us that players are able to be creative and express themselves through our games," offered an EA statement. "We want to make sure players can create characters they can identify with or relate to through powerful tools that give them influence over a Sim's gender, age, ethnicity, body type and more."
