[Watch] Path of Exile has been announced for Xbox One in new trailer

Like it's PC cousin, it too will be free-to-play

I know, I know. Free-to-play is the devil, right? Not so much for a little game called Path of Exile, which has proven to be one of the most popular games on Steam since it came out all the way back in 2013. The best way to describe Path of Exile is that it's like playing Diablo without paying the price of admission. Perhaps best of all, they don't cram microtransactions down your throat, yet they manage to make bank on the game via founders incentives, cosmetic items, and supporter packs. In other words, it works for both parties.

A new trailer was posted to the Path of Exile YouTube channel today revealing that the long-running PC game is officially coming to the Xbox One later this year. The Xbox One release will include all five expansions that have come to the game per a tweet from Major Nelson. Here's that tweet:

Path of Exile has accrued a ton of positive feedback from both critics and fans alike. The game has a total positive user score of 93% on Steam (out of 40K votes) and an average Metacritic score of 86. So as far as quality goes, Xbox One owners can rest assured that they are getting a quality game. The only question is how well its controls will translate to a controller. Time will tell.
