Daniel Craig is reportedly on the verge of doing one more James Bond movie

Please!

In 2006, Daniel Craig took over the role of James Bond in the darker, more realistic depiction of 007 titled Casino Royale. Craig quickly became a fan favorite and went on to star in three sequels (Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre), one of which is regarded as one of the best Bond films in decades.

During the press tour for Spectre, Craig expressed how much he hated the role and claimed he'd rather "slash [his] wrists than play James Bond again" and said he'd probably only do it again for the money. The reason for his hatred of the role at the time was more than likely due to all the injuries he has acquired while playing the character and the fact he has to remain in peak physical shape to play the character. Many assumed after these comments that Craig was out and that Sony was looking to replace him and continue the franchise as they've done in the past.

In October of 2016, the actor changed his stance on the role stating, "As far as I'm concerned, I've got the best job in the world. I'll keep doing it as long as I still get a kick out of it. If I were to stop doing it, I would miss it terribly."

James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli is currently talking to Daniel Craig and has supposedly "'just about persuaded Daniel Craig to do one more Bond movie.'" according to several sources who have spoken to The New York Post's Page Six.

"Daniel’s talks with Barbara are going in the right direction. They have a script — screenwriting duo Neal Purvis and Robert Wade [who’ve penned several Bond movies] are writing and they’ll go into production as soon as Daniel is ready to commit.”

In addition to this, it sounds as if producers are not keen on the heavily rumored Tom Hiddleston taking on the iconic role. Broccoli deemed The Avengers star as "a bit too smug and not tough enough to play James Bond."

It seems as if Craig will come back for one last ride as Bond, giving us closure on his story. This'll be the 25th James Bond movie and potentially the fifth and final one for Daniel Craig.

There's no set release date for the film, but it sounds as if we could maybe get it before 2020 if Craig signs on soon.
