Publisher 1C Company and Developer Destructive Creations have revealed Ancestors, a Medieval RTS where players take control of one of four nations and embark upon a bloody campaign across Europe. The game will come to both PC and Xbox One and will have native controller compatibility on PC. Ancestors will also feature a Cinematic Camera that lets players get right into the action at the press of a button.
A cinematic trailer that released earlier today showcases what that looks like. Here's the trailer:
As either the Viking, Anglo-Saxon, German, or Slav nations, players will conquer, raid, and pillage enemy camps, villages, and towns. Ancestors will also feature resource management, base-building, and squad-based combat across large battlefields all rendered in Unreal Engine 4.
Here's a feature list courtesy of an official Press Release:
- 4 playable nations in an extensive single player campaign inspired by historical events
- Advanced tactical options combining the use of terrain, experience, and morale
- Cinematic battle camera view puts you right in the center of the action
- Outstanding visual fidelity powered by Unreal Engine 4
- Intense multiplayer battles
- Streamlined resource management and village construction
Ancestors does not currently have a release date, as its Steam page only lists the vague description of "Coming Soon."
