It looks like Blizzard is prepping for Doomfist's eventual addition to the Overwatch rotation if the latest Lore post is any indication. The post talks at length about the Talon Organization's attack on Helix Security International's maximum security prison in an effort to free a single prisoner, "Akande Ogundimu, better known as Doomfist."
In describing the details of the attack, the post mentions "a black shadowy figure" who defeat's the prison guards handily with the injuries of those left dead "matching other incidents involving the mercenary known as the Reaper."
It's an elegant way of tying two characters together in a game that doesn't present a ton of narrative in its offerings. That said, Blizzard has effectively built up its world outside of the game, namely through animated shorts.
Terry Crews has long been rumored to be taking the role of Doomfist, with his good buddy Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson campaigning for him.
It's possible that with Gamescom 2017 just around the corner, that Blizzard could be planning a reveal for the show. Gamescom 2017 runs from August 22nd through the 26th, so check back then for more details.
