Destiny 2 is enjoying some explosive success since its release and has even broken some records for 2017. Despite the success, Bungie has been hard at work perfecting their game with a new update.
Update 1.0.1.3 is an "issue-fixing" release for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that's set to release next week. The ETA on the update is unclear, but from the collective mouth of Bungie itself, it will be "within the next week." The update will address some small issues, but the exact rundown of fixes has yet to be released. Patch notes will, however, accompany the update's release.
A well-known issue includes a crashing issue on the PS4 Pro (error code CE-34878-0) which many are hoping will be addressed, but a temporary workaround that seems to work is disabling DFCP in the system settings. Unfortunately, it's not foolproof, but Bungie is currently investigating the issue.
Destiny 2 released last week on both PS4 and Xbox One, with the PC version slated for release next month. Yesterday we shared Digital Foundries video showcasing the difference in performance between the two console versions. The sequel has brought much more than the original, which already enjoyed its own success.
"Destiny was the biggest launch of a new console video game franchise ever. Along with our incredibly talented partners at Bungie, we are focusing on making Destiny 2 even better, with state of the art first person action, an awesome new story, great characters, and thoughtful innovations that make the game more accessible to all different kinds of players,” Activision CEO, Eric Hirshberg, said during the game’s announcement. “We’re also bringing Destiny 2 to the PC platform for the first time. Destiny 2 will make an already great game franchise better than ever.”
With the PC version launching next month, we're expecting Destiny 2 to dominate the headlines for a while longer, which is good news for fans of the series but stay tuned to GameZone for news on other titles as well. Someone has already bested the Leviathan raid and Bungie's response was quite proud.
