Shrapnel Games To Exhibit At Gen
Con 2003
Company Marches Forward after
Successful Showing at Origins
Cary, NC, 07 July 2003 – The quest for world domination (well, world
domination of at least the strategy market) continues as North Carolina
publisher Shrapnel Games storms the convention halls of Gen Con 2003! Fresh from
the battlefields of Origins, where mighty songs of victory were sung, the
onslaught of gaming greatness will be unleashed in Indianapolis at Gen Con Indy,
from July 24th until the 27th.
Tim Brooks, founder, president, and supreme commander of the battlin’ bastards
of Shrapnel Games, had much to say about the recent trip to Origins and the
upcoming visit to Gen Con. "Origins was such an amazing experience. It was our
first convention, and frankly after such a great time I’m sorry that we hadn’t
been doing the con circuit before this year. From a personal standpoint it was
fantastic to meet our fans, both new and old, and to also get to know everyone
in the retail business along with our fellow game developers. From a business
standpoint the response was tremendous. Every time we ran a computer game demo
it was picked up by someone. Our first boardgame, Lock ‘N Load, sold like
hotcakes thanks to the tirelessly effort of Mark H. Walker, who did a superb job
of demoing his game."
With such a successful showing it was only natural that the next step in
Shrapnel’s blitzkrieg would be Gen Con. "Once I saw how Origins went Gen Con was
a no-brainer. Unfortunately, at first it looked like we would miss the exhibitor
deadline but we squeaked by, thanks to the fine folks running the convention."
Gen Con, the mother of all gaming conventions, is of course a juggernaut. The
Shrapnel Games booth, located at booth 1641 (you can look at a map here:
http://www.gencon.com/display.aspx?file=indy-exhibit-hall), has been
increased from its Origins size in accordance. Con goers will be able to
purchase all our games, and once again Mark H. Walker will be on hand to
showcase Lock ‘N Load. Rumor has it if you slip him a fiver he’ll even let you
win the demo. The usual suspects will also be present, along with some possible
surprise visits from Shrapnel developers. So don’t be a stranger! Stop by and
say hello.
Gen Con 2003 will be held July 24-27 at the Indiana Convention Center, located
at 100 South Capitol Avenue in Indianapolis. For more information about Gen Con,
