The Japanese video game magazine Famitsu has given Nintendo’s Pokemon Black and White Versions a perfect score of 40/40, according to an article and photo posted on the community-driven Pokemon website, Bulbagarden.
An image of the Famitsu review page shows that all four reviewers handed out 10 points to the latest Pokemon titles. Compared to the last generation of Pokemon games, Black and White earned higher marks than Diamond and Pearl (35/40), Platinum (36/40), and the recent HeartGold/SoulSilver remakes (37/40).
Although there is no official translation, the article states, “The reviewers appear to be highly impressed with the fresh approach that the game has taken, from the graphics to the new features to the diversity of the Pokémon. The reviewers were also impressed by the Wi-Fi and PC features.”
Interestingly, the article adds that only 14 titles have ever received a combined score of 40/40 from Famitsu, including Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Pokemon Black and White Versions launch for the Nintendo DS platform September 18 in Japan. No official date has been set for the North American launch, but Black and White should appear by the end of Spring 2011.
