Ska Studios has just revealed that The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, the sequel to their 2D beat ’em up The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, is headed to XBLA April 6. The finished game will be fully playable at PAX East this week, with hourly raffles at the Ska Studios booth offering up free codes for the game.
Vampire Smile will cost 800 Microsoft points, or $10, upon release. The game boasts a new graphics engine, allowing for full stereoscopic 3D support for those who own 3D televisions. I’m not sure if that’s creator James Silva’s sense of humor creeping out or if it’s genuinely a cool feature, but it’s there.
The game offers a similar feature set to the original, with two-player co-op, 13 campaign levels, and 50 arcade challenges. A new character (the Dishwasher’s sister Yuki), new weapons, and new enemies round out the announced set of features. It sounds like more of the same, but the original game was so good that shouldn’t matter too much. If you prefer your character-action games more Ninja Gaiden than God of War, or you were as disappointed by Shank as I was, you’re definitely going to want to check this one out.
