GamePro had the lucky opportunity to sit down with Akira Yamaoka of Silent Hill fame. He unveiled some minor tidbits about the still highly secretive Silent Hill 5. Not much has changed since the last time he spoke about the game back in December.
Silent Hill 5 will resemble Silent Hill 2, in that that title had particularly strong player direction and character behavior. The game’s platform still hasn’t been divulged. Yamaoka teased that, “we have had a good past experience with PlayStation [where the series was born] and we hope to continue that trend.” Could a timed exclusive for the PlayStation 3 be possible?
Yamaoka will also be heading sound again. Additionally, the gameplay will probably not resemble that used in Silent Hill: Origins. When asked why, Yamaoka said that it didn’t show off enough of the environment and surroundings. Certainly makes sense.
