In spite of Capcom’s recent claims to the contrary, it seems that the PlayStation 3 version of Dante and Nero’s outting may be getting the sweeter deal after all.
Word from The 1up Show is that the latest build of the game is looking and playing better on PlayStation 3, though the trailer provided by GameTrailers and Capcom above came out two weeks later than the show was recorded, leaving one to wonder whether that was really enough time to initiate change, or if Capcom is simply trying to perform some sort of damage control.
According to Famitsu, via PlayStation Universe, the reason for the alleged difference is that Capcom has added a lot more to the PS3 version, such as 5.1 LPCM audio, PSN support, and the ability to install data to the hard drive.
That’s right, for a mere 5 gigs of space, you too can remove all load time from the game. As for the PSN support, there’s no word yet as to what Capcom has planned for it, though PSU throws out the idea of new characters, bosses, weapons, or even episodic content.
So after the back-and-forth of DMC4 going to the 360, and PS3 owners not getting Dead Rising in return, and complaints of losing their exclusive, it looks like Capcom is giving the PS3 owners something extra in the end, after all.
