Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. today announced the release of its latest Ape Escape game for the Playstation 2, as well as the release of the party game spin-off Ape Escape Academy for the Sony PSP handheld. This latest portable game from Sony is being billed as an easy to pick-up-and-play game that provides a wide variety of more than 40 mini-games, including hockey, dancing, karate and dodgeball.
Sony Computer Entertainment America Senior Product Manager John Koller commented on these new releases for the Sony platforms. “The latest installments to the Ape Escape franchise are sure to deliver to fans exactly what they want — fresh storylines, enhanced features, and unique gameplay. Retaining all of the humor and fun of the previous games, Ape Escape 3 and Ape Escape Academy give players the sheer creativity and endless gameplay variety certain to make these madcap monkeys a favorite for gamers of all ages.”
One of the prominent features of Ape Escape Academy is certain to be its ad-hoc wireless connectivity which will allow two players to battle head-to-head on their PSP systems. An innovative “Share Mode” will also be available and will enable gamers to play certain mini-games using only one PSP system.
