GoNintendo has revealed that Spanish Nintendo magazine “Nintendo Accion” may have an exclusive on their hands, as they have recently revealed the above image in their pages.
It remains unconfirmed, but after the success SEGA saw with the first Mario & Sonic, a sequel should come as no surprise.
Meanwhile, SEGA Nerds has managed to roughly translate the following:
“Who are these two and why do they come to see each other? Find out all the details on the mystery game in the next magazine. But before that, here are some clues: Games, Olympics, Cold, Its winter…” — SEGA Nerds
You can find the full scan in either link. And logic dictates that if true, this game would be based on the next Olympic Games, held in Vancouver, British Columbia come 2010.
So close, and yet, so far; I really wish Toronto had been picked for the Summer Olympics before– it would have been so cool to have Mario and Sonic, facing off in much warmer Summer games, right in my own backyard. Perhaps in some other parallel universe, they did. I wonder what region coding would be like if I ever managed to get ahold of such a thing…
…says the guy who’s talking about the possibility of getting a game from another reality. “I can bend the laws of space and time, but I can’t possibly override a region lock!” Pah.
