A Boy and His Blob and Their Sequel?

Among the things the Wii is known for, one which is spoken of in less-collective terms is the number of overlooked gems residing on the console. And one such title is Majesco and WayForward’s A Boy and His Blob.

Speaking to the UK’s Official Nintendo Magazine, WayForward Director Sean Velasco indicated that after taking a break from the duo, they would like to put them in another game:

“Personally, I want to make a few small and crazy titles next,” said Velasco. “Maybe some downloadable games? Another A Boy And His Blob game would also be amazing as the first one was such a great experience.”

Hmm, “The Rescue of Princess Blobette,” perhaps? They have expressed interest before.

“WayForward always has its heart in 2D,” he continued. “We are always expanding our horizons, but I would expect to see innovation, great characters, awesome game design and the loving attention to detail that we are known for.”

Perhaps A Boy and His Blob did better than we thought, or at least well enough for Majesco and WayForward if they are considering a sequel. Unfortunately, not all such overlooked titles appear to have that same opportunity.

If you are able to get the Official Nintendo Magazine, the full interview with Velasco is in the 52nd issue, which is available now.
