Many sports fans recieved a suprise when they saw ESPN NFL 2K5 listed at $19.99 EBGames.com and GameStop.com. at the time, officials from Visual Concepts wouldn’t officially confirm the new price tag, saying they would have a lage announcement about the game soon.
Apparently, that ment two days later. Today, Friday June 11th, EBGames.com is advertising the new $19.99 price point on their home page as “just announced.” Sources within the retailer confirmed that “the $19.99 launch price for Xbox and PS2 is official and has been confirmed by the publisher.”
This shows a big move to try to steal fans away from the highly popular Madden series, and apparantly it’s already working, with many rushing to pre-order the game.
