In the Empire magazine The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey edition, Peter Jackson gave a bunch of new details for fans of the film. He told Empire that "It's going to be about ten minutes shorter than Fellowship was. So it's going to be officially our shortest Middle Earth yet… [It] is about two hours and forty minutes at the moment." That time is without the credits and certain visual effects that have to be addes, so the theatrical run tim will increase by a bit.
