Staying true to their roots, Rocksteady will develop Batman: Arkham Knight as a single-player game only. Thank god. There was a possibility — given the multiplayer addition seen in Arkham Origins — that Warner Bros. could pressure Rocksteady to include something similar. Thankfully, that won't be the case.
"This is a single-player game," game director Sefton Hill told GameInformer. "Right at the start this was our vision. It's going to take all of our effort for all of this time. We don't have the time to do multiplayer."
"We want to focus on making the best single-player experience we can," Hill added. "We don't feel that it needs a multiplayer element. Warner Bros. backed that up right at the start."
While I didn't necessarily have a problem with the concept of Arkham Origins' multiplayer, I think we can all agree it would've been time better spent on improving the single-player campaign.
