Now anyone can create a Platoon in Battlefield 4

DICE has lifted the restrictions on creating Platoons in Battlefield 4, allowing anyone on Battlelog to either join or create one. Although the ability to join a Platoon was made available to everyone in late February, creating one required a member with a Premium subscription and at least one level 10 ranked soldier. Those requirements have now been removed.

Detailed in February, Platoons is a way for "you and your friends to get together, organize yourselves, communicate, and fight together to improve your Platoon."

"Whether you want to share experiences in a more private space, or show the world who has the most skilled, most awesome Battlefield 4 team around, Platoons is the way to go," DICE says of the new feature.

DICE notes that this is jus tthe first iteration of Platoons and reiterates that htey will continue to work on the feature to refine and expand it. Right now though, players should be able to create and join a Platoon for up to 100 members. Basic management features are implemented such as inviting, applying, and promotion/demoting members. There's also a private and public Platoon feed "for easy communication."
