EA boss apologizes for Frostbite’s ‘unacceptable/stupid’ Wii U joke

Electronic Arts' Chief Operating Officer Peter Moore has issued an apology for the "unacceptable [and] stupid" April Fools' joke posted by Frostbite Engine's official Twitter yesterday.

Frostbite poked fun at the Wii U's inability to support the game engine with a Tweet that read: "Frostbite now runs on the#WiiU since it is the most powerful Gen4 platform, our renderer is now optimized for Mario and Zelda." The account also went on to say that Frostbite will power Half-Life 3 and that it would be a Wii U exclusive. All of the tweets have since been removed but not before hundreds of gamers took notice.

Wii U owners in particular were upset, understandably so given the fact that many future EA games including Dragon Age 3, the next Mass Effect and future Star Wars titles won't be releasing on the Wii U because of its inability to support Frostbite.

Even though EA doesn't condone the tweets, it still came from the publisher/developer's proprietary game engine. And EA wonders why they won the "Worst Company in America" poll two years in a row.
