President Barack Obama admits he isn't very good at playing video games. Still, that didn't stop Polish Prime Minister Donlad Tusk from giving Obama a copy of The Witcher 2, CD Projekt RED's critically acclaimed RPG, back in 2011. I don't know what they're doing over there in Poland, but do they really think the president of the United States has 20-plus hours to put into an RPG? The guy's making executive decisions and sh*t.
As it turns out, President Obama doesn't seem to have actually played the game, though he admits its a "great example" of Poland's potential in the new global economy. Below is the full quote from his new talk recorded by Poland's TVN24.
The last time I was here, Donald gave me a gift, the video game developed here in Poland that's won fans the world over, The Witcher. I confess, I'm not very good at video games, but I've been told that it is a great example of Poland's place in the new global economy. And it's a tribute to the talents and work ethic of the Polish people as well as the wise stewardship of Polish leaders like prime minister Tusk.
The quote was actually sent over by a PR rep for The Witcher, likely in an attempt to drum up some excitement about CD Projekt RED's next game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. For those actually looking for more info about the game, tune in to CD Projekt RED's summer conference on Thursday at 11am Pacific for a "brand new, absolutely wicked-good trailer with in-game footage."
