1-Shot Demo for Resident Evil 2 remake gives you 30 mins to complete

Tick-tock... tick-tock...

With roughly two weeks left for the highly anticipated remake of Resident Evil 2 arriving on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, Capcom has graced its giddy fans with an awesome announcement of an imminent demo. The 1-Shot Demo is coming out this Friday on all platforms and promises tense horror-action in more than just one way. Check out the trailer!

So, what is so special about the 1-Shot Demo and what’s up with the name? Simply put, Capcom has decided to create a very unique, time-restricted demo for Resident Evil 2. Players who download the demo and start it, will have only 30 minutes to finish it. If they fail to do so in the given time frame, it’s game over.

But the devs over at Capcom were at least merciful enough to allow players to die during the half hour lifespan of the demo. So, you won’t need to be that careful but the ever-ticking clock will no doubt add a lot to the already frightening and scary atmosphere of Resident Evil 2.

Leon’s welcoming party may have been cancelled, but your escape from the police station has just begun. Similar to the demo that we’ve had at various events since the game was first unveiled at E3 in 2018, you’ll be able to explore the R.P.D. as you like… but you’ll be on a time limit. Once those thirty minutes are up, so is your demo!

If that doesn’t get you interested, you’ll be delighted to learn that no matter how you finish the 1-Shot Demo, every player will be greeted will a brand-new trailer after 30 minutes. Unique demo. Check. New trailer hidden inside. Check. What’s not to like about it!

The last time gamers received a similarly unique demo from a game studio was the infamous P.T. teaser demo from Konami. Sadly, the project never got to see the light after the publisher’s falling out with their cult game designer Hideo Kojima.
