Publisher Deep Silver recently unveiled the current-gen release of Deadlight, a 2D zombie survival game originally released in August 2012. Co-developed by Abstraction Games and original creators Tequila Works, Deadlight: Director’s Cut will launch on June 21.
“With improved graphics and a host of new content, Deadlight: Director’s Cut will deliver the definite Deadlight experience,” Deep Silver said on YouTube.
We found the original Deadlight to be a competent and atmospheric survival game when it launched in 2012, though there was definitely room for improvement. Hopefully the Director’s Cut will patch up some of the holes we noticed in our review.
In addition to Deadlight, you may know Tequila Works as the creators of the gorgeously drawn Rime, a PS4 exclusive island adventure of sorts. Abstraction Games, on the other hand, is adept at bringing old titles to new hardware and supported the adaptations of Titan Souls, Don’t Starve, Hotline Miami, Pixel Piracy and more.
Deep Silver, meanwhile, has yet to play its hand. The studio is teasing big news for E3 2016, but hasn't offered so much as a hint.
