3D Ecco The Dolphin footage kicked me right in my nostalgia

Back in my adolescence, I used to play a game on my Sega Genesis console called Ecco the Dolphin. Odds are you've played it, and if not you've at least heard of it. It released in July of 1993, when I was eight-years-old. I had no idea what the game was about. I didn't even know what I was doing or what the purpose of it was. I just knew I could ram into enemies, I could jump out of the water, I could press a button to sing, and I had to find air occasionally.

Like most kids, I was used to games with a different pace and style than Ecco, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. So I was hit hard with nostalgia when Nintendo Life posted this off-screen footage of 3D Ecco the Dolphin, which launched on the Japanese 3DS eShop on June 26.

It's only a matter of time before the game heads west to the EU and NA 3DS eShop, but until then, take a trip down memory lane with this gameplay footage…
