A first look at Sunset Overdrive’s gameplay

It's certainly been a big day for Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive. Insomniac Games has released the first gameplay video today, confirming many of the leaked details from earlier today.

For starters, Sunset Overdrive takes place in Sunset City in the year 2027. The city is overrun by mutants following the release of a new energy drink, OverCharge Delirium XT, by the greedy corporation Fizzco.

The video also confirms there's a big emphasis on traversing through Sunset City. You'll build velocity to jump on cars, grind powerlines, and run along walls to get a tactical advantage on enemies. The omnipotent voice also introduces us to a few factions you'll encounter in the city, including a group of adventures who abide by ancient samurai culture and another that consists of Live Action Role-Players. Lastly, the video also gives us a brief look at some of the unique enemies, powerful weapons, and unique Amps (special abilities) you'll see in Sunset Overdrive when it releases exclusively for Xbox One in fall 2014.
