A.N.N.E. is a Metroidvania/shooter hybrid seeking funds

Indie dev Moise Breton has taken to Kickstarter with his upcoming project A.N.N.E. The game is influenced by 8-bit and 16-bit classics, with Breton listing Contra, Metroid, Castlevania, Gradius, and even Dark Souls as as a few of his favorite titles.

A.N.N.E. features a hybrid of Metroidvania and space shoot 'em up gameplay, allowing you to both travel by foot and via spaceship. The gameplay shifts accordingly, and in order to succeed, you'll have to use your spaceship to move around platforms and blast bad guys, meanwhile engaging in shooting combat while running around the open world map.

So far A.N.N.E. has been able to accrue over $10,000 in pledges. There are still 28 days left on this campaign, and with a goal of $70,000, it's possible that the game will reach Breton's required funding.

You can expect A.N.N.E. to launch on the PC, though Mac, PlayStation Network, Wii U, and Ouya versions could be released in a timely manner if specific stretch goals are hit. This game looks absolutely lovely, so here's hoping we can play it sooner rather than later.
