Activision continues to tease next Call of Duty with two new videos

Black Ops 3 or World at War II?

As many of you may be aware by now, Activision and Treyarch have begun teasing the next installment of Call of Duty. The viral marketing campaign, which kicked off earlier this week with Treyarch hiding the Snapchat icon in certain locations in Black Ops 2's multiplayer, is in full effect. Fans discovered the icon would direct people to the official Call of Duty Snapchat account, which has now begun posting brief teaser videos.

Continuing to tease the new game, Activision has released two new teaser videos as well as a picture of a rising (or setting) sun through the account, now renamed "Dr. Salim".

Like the first teaser, the two new videos feature grainy, cut-up footage of seemingly random locations (that probably do clue us in about the new game, but I can't make out anything). The familiar voice-over continues to whisper calming words to us.

In the first video, the voice says "Imagine somewhere calm. Imagine somewhere safe. Imagine yourself in a frozen forest."

The second teaser is very similar, but actually shows us some footage of soldiers. Perhaps someone with more historical knowledge than I could make out what war they seem to be from. Again, a voice-over is heard saying "Let your thoughts drift. Let the bad memories fad. Let peace be with you."

As you can imagine, the Call of Duty community is running wild with speculation, with valid arguments being made for both Black Ops 3 and World at War 2

If the teasers are for this year's Call of Duty, it's possible that Activision could reveal the new game next month, as Activision typically waits until May to unveil the franchise's new game. Earlier this year, Xbox community manager Raj Patel tweeted an image that when analyzed revealed suggested a new Call of Duty will be unveiled on May 4, 2015 at 10am PDT, 1pm EST.
