Activision expects to take back world records from Grand Theft Auto 5, Rockstar

Activision apparently isn’t too thrilled that Rockstar and Grand Theft Auto 5 have taken a number of their Guinness World Records, according to an interview with MCV.

Speaking to the site, UK Senior Brand Manager Kevin Flynn shelved the idea that the Call of Duty series is on the decline, despite decreasing pre-order figures in comparison to past installments, adding that the release of Call of Duty: Ghosts will once again remind other triple-A developers that Activision, Call of Duty rules the marketplace.

"Congratulations to the team at Rockstar for their success," he said, before adding, "We look forward to getting the record back before the next GTA title.

"We know that our unaided awareness for Ghosts is leading the way against other unreleased triple-A titles. Our digital content has proven extremely popular and Black Ops II has sold more than 3m units in the UK."

Call of Duty: Ghosts is set to release on November 5 for current-gen systems.
