Adam Orth no longer with Microsoft after ‘always on’ Twitter controversy

After a series of controversial tweets last week on the topic of “always-online” connectivity and the next-generation Xbox, Microsoft Creative Director Adam Orth is reportedly no longer with the company.

Orth’s statements, which can be seen below, could be rounded up into one statement, or picture, as most Internet fans are familiar with: Deal with it. Well, obviously that’s not a great thing to tell your customers who’ve yet to even be revealed the product, as it forced Microsoft to release a statement regarding the comments:

 "We apologize for the inappropriate comments made by an employee on Twitter yesterday. This person is not a spokesperson for Microsoft, and his personal views do not reflect the customer centric approach we take to our products or how we would communicate directly with our loyal consumers. We are very sorry if this offended anyone, however we have not made any announcements about our product roadmap, and have no further comment on this matter."

According to two sources close to Polygon, Orth has departed from the company, days after “protecting” his tweets following the controversy, though GameInformer notes that it’s unconfirmed “whether this was a voluntary or forced resignation.”
