Adult Swim’s metroidvania game, Headlander releases on Xbox One and Mac

You can also grab a DRM-free version on Humble Bundle

If you're looking to scratch that Metroidvania itch, Headlander proved to be a pretty solid offering when it released earlier this year. Unfortunately, Xbox One and Mac owners have not been able to give the game a spin…until now. Adult Swim recently launched Headlander on the missing platforms, as well as a DRM-free version through Humble Bundle alongside a brand new teaser trailer (seen above).

Originally, Headlander released on PlayStation 4 (as part of Sony's PLAY 2016 lineup) and Steam back in July. The game takes heavy inspiration from 1970's Sci-Fi and is set in your classic utopia-gone-wrong setting. In this world, humans are all but extinct, and have transferred their consciousnesses into robot bodies under the authoritarian rule of a deranged computer. A majority of Headlander's gameplay loop revolves around the player using their rocket-powered head to pop on and off bodies to navigate their way through the treacherous environment.

Headlander is now on sale at a 40% discount on Xbox Live, PSN, Steam, and Humble Bundle and will arrive on GOG.com and the Windows 10 store later this month.
