Alan Wake being removed from Xbox, PC digital stores next week

After May 15th, you will no longer be able to purchase Alan Wake or all the DLC on PC or in the Xbox Store. Meanwhile, Alan Wake's American Nightmare will remain available for purchase. One the game leaves the store, you will still be able to access it if it is in your library (again, you simply will not be able to purchase the game).

The game and its DLC are leaving the PC and Xbox stores because the music licenses for Alan Wake are expiring. Remedy and Microsoft are looking into renewing the licensing, however, there is no timeframe for it.

As Remedy controls the ability to discount Alan Wake on Steam, they have launched a 'Sunset Sale' for Alan Wake between May 13th and May 15th, that makes Alan Wake, all of the DLC, and Alan Wake's American Nightmare 90% off.

Unfortunately, it's unclear is Microsoft will be joining in on the sale on the Xbox Store.
