Alien Noire is nothing more than a Prey 2 fan site

Remember that Alien Noire website with the mysterious countdown? It just had to be counting down to some Prey 2 reveal. Right? RIGHT!?

Wrong. The countdown concluded, revealing nothing more than a fan site that's designed to host a petition for Bethesda to finish the game. Prey 2 publisher Bethesda Softworks and developer Human Head Studios have denied involvement with the site, despite the company logos prominently on display.

"It appears to be a fan site. We have nothing to do with that site," Bethesda's VP of PR and marketing Pete Hines told Joystiq.

Last year, Bethesda confirmed that Prey 2 was delayed, but assured that it was not canceled. "The delay is due to the fact that game development has not progressed satisfactorily this past year, and the game does not currently meet our quality standards," we were told. It was then revealed that Prey 2 had not even been worked on since November 2011.

Regardless of Alien Noire being a fan-made website, it's still pretty neat. Check it out here if you want to sadden yourself about a game that will probably disappoint — if it's ever released.
