I'm a huge fan of the 1986 James Cameron sci-fi film Aliens. Corporal Dwayne Hicks played by Michael Biehn was my favorite character in the film. So it brings me great joy that Hicks kicks off the story trailer that Sega released for Aliens: Colonial Marines. When Hicks tells you to assume all marines are KIA, you should believe him.
The story trailer has us meet the marines that we'll be playing as and interacting with in the upcoming shooter from Gearbox Software. The crew of the U.S.S. Sephora is the last of the battalion to get popped out of cryo after responding to a distress call 17 weeks ago from the U.S.S. Sulaco (the ship in Aliens). Even Bishop — or an android like him — is in it. The trailer shows the marines facing off against the xenomorphs, all while trying to figure out what happened on the Sulaco.
Aliens: Colonial Marines releases on February 12, 2013 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC.
