Among the Sleep dreams of meeting funding goal on Kickstarter

Among the Sleep, the first-person horror adventure played from a 2-year-old child's perspective, is now seeking funds on Kickstarter.

Developer Krillbite Studios needs $200,000 by May 18 to reach its target goal. If successful, it plans to release the game on PC, Mac, and Linux in Q4 this year.

The studio has finished development on core gameplay and levels, but it still has a lot of work left on production, as well as lots of polishing and testing to do. This extra funding will enable the team to focus on Among the Sleep full-time and complete it within a reasonable time frame.

Krillbite wishes to remain independent. Kickstarter is the alternative to securing an outside publisher.

The developer will determine other language options, besides the confirmed English and Norwegian, depending on feedback. It estimates four hours of gameplay. It's aiming for releases on Steam and GOG, among others.

Krillbite's PR head Adrian Tingstad Husby has written a blog post about the controversial subjects of death and horror in the child-central game, which is intended for adults.
