Rovio announced via video on their YouTube channel today that Angry Birds Star Wars will launched on PlayStation 3, PS Vita, Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Nintendo 3DS on October 29 in the U.S., with a launch date of November 1 worldwide.
Angry Birds Star Wars, which has been downloaded more than 100 million times since its release last fall, is based on the original Star Wars trilogy (episodes IV through VI). The version coming to consoles and handhelds adds 20 never-before-seen exclusive levels; that's in addition to the existing 200 from the mobile game. Also, for the first time ever, there are multiplayer modes that allow family members or friends to play together in two-player co-op mode to work for a combined high score. If you're more of the competitive type, there's four player competitive mode, as well.
Angry Birds Star Wars will come complete with achievements and trophies, leaderboards, high-definition graphics, and unlockable bonus levels, items and content.
