Animal Crossing: New Leaf crushes the competition with amazing sales in Japan

If you thought the massive popularity of Animal Crossing was ever going to slow down, you should probably consider this piece of news. Japan was already treated to the 3DS version of the new Animal Crossing game subtitled New Leaf, and in just its first two months of release, it has already managed to sell over two million copies, putting it at 2.1 million copies.

Why that's impressive is because it managed to outsell games like Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, Monster Hunter 3G, and New Super Mario Bros. 2, and even Japan's best selling PS3 game, Final Fantasy 13.

Now we just have to wait until its inevitable release here in the US.
