With the standalone Batman film on the horizon from Ben Affleck, scrutiny has been placed on the DC Cinematic Universe on just who will be in it. We know that the film will feature Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke, but not much else has been revealed.
When Batman comes into play, there's the chance that we will see Catwoman. Back in the 90s, the role was taken by Michelle Pfeiffer in Batman Beyond, then by Halle Berry in a stand-alone Catwoman film in the 2000s, and finally by Anne Hathaway in the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy.
If anyone is going to be Catwoman, we might as well pick the most recent actress that did the role some justice.
Anne Hathaway sat down with Variety and revealed that she wouldn't mind reprising her role as Catwoman in a spinoff movie.
"I loved that character and I had such a blast playing her. I’m not sure how it would work because I think the Chris Nolan chapter of the Batman story has been wrapped up and I’m part of that, but I love the DC Universe and it would be fun to take a trip back."
Even though Hathaway "loved' play Catwoman, she understands that there may come a time when someone else takes the role.
"It sort of goes with the territory when you accept it and receive it from the last Catwoman. I was shown such generosity from Halle [Berry] and from Michelle [Pfeiffer], and so I would do that the next time as well."
I wouldn't mind seeing a stand-alone Catwoman movie, heck, I wouldn't even mind Catwoman in the stand-alone Batman movie… I just don't want it to be abysmal… like that last stand-alone Catwoman movie. /shudders
