Another Sean Bean character dies … this time in a video game

For those of you who have been living under a rock, Sean Bean has been cleansing all of our sins by sacrificing his character’s mortality in every role he takes.

Perhaps the on-camera deaths have finally taken its toll over the years, as the English actor has recently turned to video game voice acting – his latest role as a narrator in Civilization VI. Unfortunately, it seems Bean’s string of bad luck continues as he can’t even outlive the game’s trailer.

Check out a quirky behind the scenes video he recently did for the game.

The actor takes it all in stride:

Do you mean I don’t survive the trailer?” he says skeptically as his character dies in a plane explosion. “…I thought I survived this. Well, I guess I don’t. I guess they’re just gonna get somebody else in to do the next one.

While most people know Bean for his roles as Boromir in Lord of the Rings, Ned Stark from Game of Thrones, or the duplicitous 006 from Goldeneye, his notoriety has skyrocketed in recent years thanks to internet memes and the fact he’s died in more than 20 films.

Civilization VI is already out on PC and MAC. Check out our review of the game right here.
