A free demo is now available for the word-based role-playing game Apexicon, which is inspired by Puzzle Quest.
I covered Apexicon a couple weeks ago in my Week in Mobile column and called it a "fresh, welcome addition to app stores crowded with match-3-alikes" (it's also slated for PCs). It's got hints of Eternal Darkness and Bookworm Adventures, a really cool concoction that's in need of $15,000 on Kickstarter with a long way to go and only 12 days to make it.
You can download the public demo and try it out here.
In an update today, developer Actos Games wrote, "We'll be tweaking the demo and releasing another version with more user-friendly menus, and making the Literati Eraser easier to fight. We'll also be tweaking the board generation, as we hear you and know about the hard times you've been having with Qs, Zs, Ws, and such."
Be sure to let us know what you think of the demo in the comments.
