Apple still has "a lot to cover." That's the tease they sent out to several tech outlets ahead of today's invitation-only event where the company is expected to reveal new iPad models.
Various tech websites and news publications claim that the next-gen iPad is thinner and lighter than previous models, runs Apple's new 64-bit A7 chip, and features and improved camera. It's also believed to include the new fingerprint sensor technology, Touch ID.
Then there's the iPad mini which is expected to be upgraded with either the A7 processor or the A6 currently used in the iPhone 5C (which I just bought yesterday!). It's also reportedly said to have a retina display this time around.
In all honesty, I'm not too familiar with the iPad family as they are just too darn expensive for my cheap taste. Hopefully, Apple can find a way to curb even the iPad mini's price down. If they can figure out a way to offer an iPad version of the iPhone 5C, that would probably help them compete against the more affordable tablets such as Amazon's Kindle.
Apple's event begins at 1:00pm Eastern Time. We'll be sure to keep you updated with any announcements they make.
