Aquaman Director suggests Warner Bros job shuffles aren’t as big a deal as they seem

The overwhelming amount of backlash from the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice led to a lot of internal changes over at Warner Bros. and DC Comics. A lot of these sudden changes brought many concerns to the public, directors were leaving projects, people were losing creative control, and Zack Snyder hasn't been heard of in months so he may as well be dead. James Wan director of the upcoming The Conjuring 2 and Aquaman film has come out and said that things aren't as bad as they seem.

In an interview with CinemaBlend, James Wan revealed that the recent snafu with Warner Bros. hasn't had a major impact on him or his film.

“To be honest, it’s not as dramatic as the press is making it out to be – from what I’m seeing. And right now I’m seeing everything as more an outsider looking into this box. So from that perspective, it’s really cool that it’s not crazy, crazy dramatic. I think it’s great. Geoff Johns is super talented, super smart. Part of what got me excited about the Aquaman character is his re-envisioning of Aquaman, the character, with The New 52. And that’s super exciting. And I’m working very closely with him, and I want to work with him very closely to shape the story that I want to tell"

He also mentions he has had his head down in finishing The Conjuring 2 and hasn't really heard anything about all these reports from people other than the press.

“Whatever these “shake-ups” are, I don’t actually see them. If anything, like anything to do with my fricking career, I read about them in the trades, I read them all over the internet! And people are asking me this and I’m like, ‘Huh? What?’ [laughs] Just like I found out all these things. And so I’m not privy to necessarily what’s going – partially because I was so busy with trying to finish up Conjuring 2."

In other DC Comics news, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice's directors cut has just gotten a trailer released that shows off a load of new footage.

James Wan's new film The Conjuring 2 will hit theaters this week on June 10th.
