Assassin’s Creed 3 and one other game head to Xbox One via backward compatibility today

Microsoft revealed next month's free games for Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers earlier today and one of the upcoming free games is Assassin's Creed 3 on the Xbox 360. The nearly five-year-old game received positive reviews and sold fairly well.

This suggests that plenty of Xbox owners already own the game, which is a good thing – especially because the game is officially backward compatible on the Xbox One! The only people who have to wait until June to jump back into Assassin's Creed 3 are the people who either never bought the game or sold it.

Everyone else can pop their copy into the Xbox One and get on with it.

In addition to Assassin's Creed 3 heading to the Xbox One's backward compatibility library, Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond has joined as well.
