Revealed alongside today's gameplay debut for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag were four different collector's editions for the highly anticipated Ubisoft title. Unfortunately, only two of them apply to those of us here in America. The rest are exclusive to the UK and Ireland.
First up is the "Black Chest" edition, which is exclusive to Ubisoft's proprietary Uplay network. This special edition offers "everything a true Assassin's Creed fan could desire," including a diorama figuring of game protagonist Captain Edward Kenway, an artbook, the official soundtrack, and all of the existing additional in-game content available in the other versions.
Other collector's editions include the "Buccaneer Edition" exclusive to GAME in the UK and Gamestop in Ireland; the "Skull" edition available market-wide in the UK; and the "Special Edition," which is exclusive to GAME in the UK and Xtravision in Ireland. Those of us in North America can order the "Black Island" pack through Gamestop.

Also revealed today was "The Watch," a VIP program available for those who pre-order the game from the Uplay service, GAME, and Amazon in the UK or Gamestop in Ireland. The Watch throws in additional bonus content and offers a more in-depth look at the world of the Assassin's Creed series. Members will be able to take part in an "exclusive quest designed specifically for VIP members."
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag is set for release on October 29 in North America and November 1 in Europe, on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Wii U and Windows PC.
