PC ports developed "in parallel" with the main console versions always give fans cause for concern, particularly in this day and age and this series in particular. Assassin's Creed Unity, whose infamous launch is one of, if not the primary reasons that Ubisoft took an extra year to make sure that 2017's Assassin's Creed game, Origins was up to par. Coordinating Producer on Assassin's Creed Origins, Jose Araiza said that the minimum requirements for Assassin's Creed: Origins will be identical to Syndicate, which was the last game in the series to come out back in 2015.
Here's a breakdown of the requirements:
Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
Processor: Intel Core i5-2400s @ 2.5 GHz or AMD FX-6350 @ 3.9 GHz or equivalent
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 or AMD R9 270 (2048 MB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or better)
RAM: 6GB
Resolution: 720p
Video Preset: Lowest
Recommended System Requirements
OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
Processor: Intel Core i7- 3770 @ 3.5 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 or AMD R9 280X (3GB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or better)
RAM: 8GB
Resolution: 1080p
Video Preset: High
As you might expect, the PC version of Assassin's Creed: Origins wasn't fully by the main development team, but was made "in parallel" with the dedicated PC development team at Ubisoft Kiev. Araiza says this approach was used so that mouse and keyboard controls would be "a full part of the equation from the get-go."
Previous reports on the PC version of Assassin's Creed: Origins weren't exactly stellar, saying that the game had framerate issues "on par" with Unity's launch version. Hopefully, the team at Ubisoft Kiev can get that straightened out before the game launches on October 27th, 2017.
