Assassin’s Creed: Origins will have Increased Draw Distance, Faster Transitions & more on Xbox One X

Assassin's Creed: Origins draws ever closer to its release, and while it will be a stunning game on every platform it releases on, Ubisoft is focused particularly on its Xbox One version thanks to a deal between them and Microsoft. A Q&A was posted to the company's press site and gave a few interesting tidbits on what exactly the Xbox One X version brings to the table.

In digging through the PR fluff, Ubisoft says that the console's Scorpio engine will be able to render Assassin's Creed: Origins at both a 4K and 1080p resolution and that users who don't own a 4K TV will still get "an oversampled image of higher quality on their 1080p displays."

The Dolby Atmos feature will also enhance the game's sound effects with greater fidelity "such as flocks of birds flying overhead." The HDR feature will allow for more significant variations in the game's skies with "subtle color change in the blues" and light sources like torches and sunsets display "more vibrantly."

Draw distance gets what is perhaps the biggest boost of all the game's visual features as various elements such as grass, plants, pebbles, and flowers can be seen twice as far on the Xbox One X compared to the standard Xbox One. The game's architecture, vegetation, and rocks will display at higher resolutions and also get added fidelity at longer distances.

The final detail that the Q&A reveals is that the transitions from the protagonist Bayek, to his hawk, Senu will be "instantaneous" thanks to the added memory in the Xbox One X.

Assassin's Creed: Origins releases on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 27th, 2017.
